Jordan Palmer on Jordan Love's potential

Former quarterback has high expectations for the Green Bay quarterback.

00:00I know for a fact that you were a believer in Jordan Love before he busted out in his

00:04second half of last year and got that massive contract.

00:07Now that it's clear that he's going to be the guy for Green Bay for years to come, in

00:11terms of growth and development, what's his ceiling look like to you?

00:15Well, I think his ceiling is to play at the level that Aaron played at.

00:20And I know that that means a Super Bowl and that means MVPs.

00:25And so like, I'm fine with that statement.

00:28Because from a talent perspective, in an organization who has sustained winning for

00:32long periods of time, like decades now, he's in a really good situation.

00:38Romy, one of the things that nobody talks about with Jordan Love, and nobody gets credit

00:42for this, is in my space, right?

00:45So I train a bunch of, you know, really talented quarterbacks, right?

00:49And so you take one of my clients and somebody might give some credit to me, and then they

00:53give credit to the offensive coordinator, and they give credit to the staff around them

00:56and the players.

00:58One group of people that never gets credit for something like Jordan Love happening is

01:03guys like Aaron Rodgers, right?

01:05We can talk about it from like, hey, this guy should sit behind that guy.

01:08But we don't look at it like that guy is sitting behind is developing him.

01:13Maybe not even making a comment, just put in that, how to do it correctly on tape and

01:17the discussion around making changes and fixing things.

01:21I think Aaron Rodgers should get some credit for doing an unbelievable job at helping develop

01:26Jordan Love.

01:28And I'm actually going to be paying attention to how good of a job Kirk Cousins does, even

01:32if he starts every game this year, in developing Michael Pennix Jr.

01:36And so this idea of sitting a quarterback behind a great player, it makes sense to every

01:40fan.

01:41But from my perspective, I don't think these older veterans get enough credit for the job

01:45they're doing.

01:46And I'll say this as a quarterback developer.

01:48I think in the last three or four years, Aaron Rodgers has proven to be the best developer

01:53of quarterbacks in the NFL, based off what I've seen Jordan Love do, going from a mid

01:58first round pick that I trained for the draft, that I thought had a high ceiling and could

02:02be good, to a max contract guy where we're sitting here saying that Super Bowl's an MVP

02:08is the ceiling.
