00:00Here's the interesting sort of wrinkle here when we're kind of looking at what the what

00:07the picks could be.

00:08And those are coming this next week.

00:09Right.

00:10Like I think the Tuesday after the tour championship.

00:12So Keegan is now 10th on that President's Cup points list.

00:17Like I mean, it's obviously it's cut off now, but that's where he moved with the win of

00:20the BMW championship.

00:22He is currently an assistant captain on that team.

00:24So the question is, do you take Keegan as a playing captain?

00:29Because here's the list from seven to 12.

00:31Sam Burns was two weeks ago outside of the top 12.

00:34He was 13th.

00:35He's now seventh.

00:36Then you have Tony Finau, Russell Henley, Keegan Bradley, Brian Harmon and Max Homa.

00:42Brian Harmon, Max Homa at 1112 are obviously not playing here at Eastlake.

00:46If you go further down that list, you have a group of guys who are past that top 12,

00:50but who are playing this week.

00:52That includes Chris Kirk at 13, Akshay Bhatia at 14, Billy Horschel at 17, Tom Hoagie, 18

00:59and Justin Thomas at 19.

01:01So starting with just that American side, what how are you seeing this next week or

01:07so shake out?

01:08And do you think do you think that that group of guys who are outside the top 12 with a

01:13good week here kind of force their way in the door?

01:15I think you just set the table really nicely there.

01:17I think it's kind of obvious to me that there's a couple shoe ins that you pick, you know,

01:22the way Sam Burns has been playing in the way Tony Finau have been playing.

01:26To me, those those two guys are just no brainers.

01:29It feels like to me that it'd be really difficult for Jim Furyk not to pick Keegan Bradley just

01:34with the backlash, him being in the room.

01:36I think you kind of get to see both sides of it.

01:40And personally, I think we all want to see Keegan play, do you think?

01:43Not to interrupt you, but just quickly on the Keegan thing, because I'm interested.

01:46I think there's a world where Keegan lobbies to not be picked so he can gain more captain

01:51experience ahead of the radical.

01:53That's an insane line of thought.

01:55Your whole goal as a as a professional golfer is to make as many of these teams as possible.

02:01Being an assistant captain, it's the role is it's it's very minute as far as like what

02:07you can do on the golf course.

02:09The only guy that can give advice is the captain.

02:12So you really are just out there just being a good support system and you're just getting

02:17to watch, really.

02:19So when you get to be inside the ropes and playing, I think there's nothing that beats

02:25that.

02:26And this isn't to say that these captains aren't on numerous calls trying to figure

02:30out the stats, you know, talking to these players, trying to talk to the captain.

02:34There is a tons of roles that go into making these teams.

02:40So I'm not trying to diminish what these assistant captains do do.

02:44But if you're Keegan, you're not turning down the opportunity to represent the USA and,

02:49you know, to potentially, you know, who knows?

02:52I know he's the one picking, but if he goes out and is undefeated at the President's Cup,

02:58it's a nice resume builder for him going into next year.
