00:00Hi, I'm Theo with Manchester World and I'm out on the streets of Manchester today asking
00:04people about policing and that's because it's been found that the Metropolitan
00:06Police are failing in many aspects across their role and in Manchester
00:11police have had a bit of a weird month or so with the incident at Manchester
00:14Airport and then receiving commendations for their work during the riots, trying to
00:18know whether people have a positive or negative association with the police in
00:21Manchester and whether they think it could do with some reform.
00:23I believe, I do believe in policing I just think it needs like a huge reform.
00:27Schools, we often have community police workers that come to speak, I feel like there's an
00:31effort that's being made to break down some fear of what you see, you know, where
00:38them doing stuff in schools, being on the streets, being a bit more visible.
00:42It's a corrupt system so you can't blame the individual people but we're just seeing some change.
00:47Yeah.
00:48Racial sensitivity, like being more trained in, you know, matters where maybe
00:55you might have some privilege that's like blocking you from being able to do
00:58your job effectively.
