00:34That same day on X, Kennedy himself gave the more cryptic statement,
00:37As always, I am willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have
00:42served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign. And when asked about the idea by CNN,
00:47Trump said he would be honored by RFK Jr.'s endorsement, and that he probably would
00:52appoint the candidate to a position in his administration if elected.
00:55The Washington Post and CNN reported last week that Kennedy had also reached out to
01:00the Harris campaign about getting an administration appointment if he were to drop out.
01:04According to Fox News, Kennedy has denied this. As of now, he remains in the race,
01:08and the situation is complicated by the fact that it's not actually clear who would benefit
01:12from his departure. His family name has been thought to draw support from Democrats,
01:16but his unorthodox positions, such as vaccine skepticism, also hold appeal for Trump voters.
01:22RealClearPolitics' polling averages currently show RFK Jr. making basically no difference in
01:27the election, with Kamala Harris holding a 1.5% lead in either a two-way race against Trump
01:33or a five-way race including Kennedy, Jill Stein, and Cornel West.
