Cockatoo And 102-Year-Old Grandma Become Best Friends

102-year-old grandma becomes best friends with a rescued cockatoo who reminds her of her husband ❤️ We talked to her granddaughter, Sabrina, who shared their amazing bond with us.

00:00They looked at each other, and it was like a soulmate kind of thing.

00:09She's a good bird.

00:12I don't think that's happened before.

00:16She always goes back to you.

00:19I know.

00:20My friend Deborah Jo has a wildlife sanctuary.

00:23We're all like, oh, how cool to visit a little rehab place.

00:29And then Deborah brought out the bird, and that's when all the magic happened.

00:37We were just all shocked, because the umbrella cockatoos, they're very loyal to like one person.

00:41And they stay far away from everybody else.

00:44I guess we got a bird.

00:46She's going to steal it.

00:54We literally spent three hours there.

00:58Her and my grandpa always had lovebirds at home.

01:01My grandpa did pass away, so I don't know if maybe he sent her the bird.

01:07When we were walking out, my grandma was asking me in Italian when we were going to go back to visit.

01:12Pita?

01:14You mentioned that Pita's birthday is coming up, so we would love to send you a little gift that Grandma can give to Pita.

01:19Okay, yeah. Great. Let's see how it goes.

01:22Are you happy? Yeah?

01:25On the way to go see Pita.

01:29It's your birthday, and your favorite person's coming.

01:34And that's Grandma!

01:46The bird was really excited to see my grandma again.

01:53They had such a great bond.

02:01She sat on her shoulder, and he sat on her lap the entire time.

02:06Pita!

02:07Do you think your grandma reminded her of someone?

02:12I do know that Pita belonged to somebody else before my friend rescued her, and that person passed away.

02:20So, maybe, yeah.

02:27When my grandma brought out the gift, she held the gift up for her.

02:32We rubbed the gift on my grandma's sweatshirt.

02:37She loved the gift.

02:40My friend lives an hour away, so it's quite a deal to go back, but we'll visit again.

02:46They have such a great bond.

02:49When we were actually leaving, the bird did go on top of her walker.

02:54The connection they have is like love at first sight.

02:58They just love each other.
