Abandoned Baby Parrot Loves To Snuggle With Her Teddy Bear

This tiny, abandoned baby parrot was too weak to fly — wait to see the moment her mom knew she was gonna be OK. Sweet Pea's mom told us how this little parrot decided she was going to get strong enough to fly around the house!

00:00In the very beginning, she was definitely terrified.

00:04She was malnourished and starving.

00:09So the first couple days I had her was really just trying to push fluids and nutrition into her.

00:18I honestly thought that she was so malnourished that she had an issue with being able to form full feathers.

00:28It's okay.

00:30The next step was teaching her how to be a bird, getting perches for her.

00:35You're not even an inch from the ground.

00:42She became quite spunky.

00:44Hello. Oh, sweetie. You're so cute.

00:48Within the first week of me having her, she started to really get curious of her surroundings.

00:58She definitely imprinted on me pretty quickly, and now she's absolutely obsessed with me.

01:09She loves to cuddle.

01:13So she's had a little teddy bear in her cage with her since the first week I had her, and she's obsessed with it.

01:34Within the first 10 days, you could really start seeing feathers growth coming in.

01:38When they started forming on her wings, that's when I kind of knew, okay, we've got her health under control.

01:44We're going to turn this around.

01:55Then the day she took flight was the day that I knew, like, okay, we did it.

02:01I'm also really proud because I never thought she'd be able to fly, but she just started flying,

02:05so now she's also escaping from her cage and flying all over my house.

02:17She's my buddy. We do everything together.

02:20She's quite naughty, but she's my buddy.

02:27For me to go through this much work and, like, this much potential heartbreak and watching her progress over the weeks to come

02:35and just seeing, you know, that I essentially helped save her life, I was like, I have to keep her.

02:41I'm obsessed with her. I'm attached to her.
