Dog Who Had 12 Puppies In The Shelter Gets A Spa Day

This scared, pregnant dog had 12 babies in the shelter — so we set her up with a spa day in her foster home to make her feel super special

00:00There was a very pregnant dog needing rescue in the shelter but a scary and stressful environment to be having your babies

00:15And I think it was the next day or two that I saw the live video of her having them

00:20Dogs barking all around and she was so scared

00:23The look in her eyes, it's just so sad to see them like that

00:34I'm like, all right. Can't let her stay there. She can come

00:43They're not in there. Go put them in your room. She was a lot smaller than I anticipated

00:49Every time she heard the clink in the gate

00:52You'd hear her barking and growling from inside

00:57She never tried to fight or anything it was just I just had babies go away

01:05Took her a couple days, but then she realized when I came in that it wasn't to be scary or mean

01:10She's like, oh, hi friend

01:16This litter was a lot of work so many newborns

01:20So many

01:24I didn't know who was who except for there were some that weren't well at first so like those ones sort of stood out more

01:31She had eight nipples and 12 babies and she was not making enough milk for everybody

01:36So we had to intervene a little bit to help some of them

01:41The early days she just wanted to be with them and then one day when I was out in the yard her body language had

01:48Shifted good girl, and she was looking at me. She really wanted to meet everybody at that time

01:54my pack consisted of seven other dogs and

01:57She was in a heaven

02:00She was so happy to be with a pack so much so that she didn't want to be with her babies anymore

02:09Enjoying your time away from the babies

02:12As soon as we were able to get them on food it was a game-changer

02:18Everyone started getting fatter. Everyone started getting healthier. Everyone started running around and playing

02:25She was much more peaceful. It's really cool to watch her be a dog

02:36They all looked at eight weeks because the rescue is probably about two hours away from me

02:40So it's easier for them to have them up there for their adopters

02:48The Dodo sent her a super pretty box it just smelled delicious
