Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited Wayanad to assess the devastating landslides that struck on July 30, causing around 250 deaths and leaving hundreds missing. An all-party meeting led by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan is planned. Rescue efforts continue with military involvement, rescuing 1,386 people so far. A Bailey bridge is under construction to connect affected areas. Rahul Gandhi has called for declaring the incident a "national disaster." Ongoing rains are hindering rescue operations in parts of Wayanad.

00:30.
00:53It's a terrible tragedy for Wayanad, for Kerala and for the nation.
01:04We've come here to see the situation.
01:10It's quite a painful experience to see how many people have lost family members, lost
01:17houses.
01:23It's very difficult to speak to people in these circumstances because really you don't
01:29know what to say to them.
01:33So it's been quite a difficult day for me, but we are going to try and help make sure
01:41that the survivors get what is their due.
01:45A lot of them want to be relocated, so I hope the government takes that into account.
01:51There is still a lot of work to be done here, but it's a huge tragedy.
01:58I'd like to thank all the people who are working here, the doctors, the nurses, the administration,
02:07volunteers.
