Iran claims it launched a surprise ballistic missile strike targeting the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says the attack also targeted the location of Israel’s Air Force commander, declaring the strike a major victory and stating that Netanyahu’s whereabouts are now “unclear.”

The claims were first reported by the semi-official Tasnim News Agency and amplified across regional media. However, there has been no independent confirmation from Israel or the United States that Netanyahu’s office was successfully hit or that he is missing.

The escalation follows massive joint U.S.–Israeli strikes inside Iran beginning around February 28, which reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei along with several senior IRGC commanders. United States Central Command previously announced that key IRGC headquarters were destroyed in coordinated assaults.

Iran has since retaliated with waves of missiles and drones targeting Israeli military sites and U.S. bases in the region. With both sides trading unprecedented blows, fears are growing that the conflict could spiral into a broader regional war.
