News has come out this week that plans are being analysed for a new Manchester United stadium, we analyse what the information is and whether Manchester United fans should be getting excited.

00:00It's now been over half a year since Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchased a minority stake in Manchester

00:03United and we've already seen lots of change. So what's the latest at the club? Well excitement

00:08levels have been high this week with the news that conversations are ongoing about a new 100,000

00:12seats a stadium which would coincide with the redevelopment of the area surrounding Old Trafford.

00:17Final decisions on the subject are said to be made by the end of the year with Gary Neville

00:21and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham both involved in the task force. The plan could

00:26reportedly cost two billion pounds and Ratcliffe has already said that this is his preferred plan.

00:31However a redevelopment of the current ground is still an option. Ratcliffe's 27.7% stake has given

00:37him carte blanche to run the sporting operations at the club and despite the new optimism over the

00:41ground development there has been disappointment about the chemical tycoon's plans to cut around

00:46250 jobs at the club. Centre back Jonny Evans recently admitted the news has been difficult
