00:08after the rock legend Ozzy Osbourne. This iconic figure was originally unveiled during
00:13the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. Since then, Ozzy has become a favourite spot for
00:18passengers and visitors, drawing countless photo opportunities and adding a unique charm
00:23to the station. Ozzy was designed by Artem Special Effects and made a permanent feature
00:29thanks to Network Rail and the West Midlands Combined Authority. Festivities include free
00:35cupcakes, a chance to snap a photo with Ozzy and signing a joint birthday card. Celebrations
00:41will go on until Sunday evening. Over the past year, Birmingham New Street has welcomed
00:46more passengers, with numbers almost back to pre-pandemic levels. This first anniversary
00:51is not just about celebrating Ozzy, but also the vibrant community that the station serves.
