00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Marco Bertagna, we're
00:03starting the new working week on quite a bright note across the south-east of the UK and up
00:07towards the north-west of Scotland too. But notice elsewhere, quite a lot of cloud around,
00:11some outbreaks of rain in places, some of that rain quite heavy across the south of
00:14Scotland and across northern parts of England. As we head through the morning into the early
00:18part of the afternoon, those outbreaks of rain across southern Scotland and northern
00:21England tend to break up to give a scattering of showers, some of those quite heavy this
00:25afternoon with a rumble of thunder in places. Meanwhile, the shower outbreaks of rain across
00:28England and Wales will tend to move away towards the east and allow the skies to brighten
00:32and here, into the afternoon, it should become quite sunny, particularly across central and
00:36southern England and parts of Wales, plenty of sunshine here to end the day. Whereas towards
00:40the far north-west, across the north and west of Scotland and Northern Ireland, it's generally
00:43a case of sunshine and scattered showers. In the sunshine towards the south-east, it
00:47will feel quite warm I think this afternoon, temperatures into the low, locally mid-20s,
00:51peaking at 24 or 25 Celsius, 25 will be 77 in Fahrenheit. A bit cooler towards the north
00:57and north-west in the mid to upper teens, perhaps squeaking a 20 there in Belfast and
01:02in Newcastle too. As we head into the evening, those showers will start to ease, at least
01:07for a time, because as we head into the overnight period, into the early hours of Tuesday, further
01:11showery bursts of rain will start to move in from the west, especially across parts
01:14of England and Wales, so turning quite wet as we head into the early hours of Tuesday.
01:18Best of the clear spells lingering towards the north-west of the UK, so certainly across
01:22Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland, quite a clear picture here, and it will turn
01:26quite chilly once again under those clear spells, because temperatures down into single
01:30figures in a few spots, but elsewhere with a cloud and those showery bursts of rain coming
01:33back in from the west, it will be quite mild and quite humid, with temperatures in the
01:37low to mid-teens Celsius. As for Tuesday, with those cloudy, showery conditions across
01:41the south of the UK, we'll gradually give way to brightening skies with a scattering
01:45of showers generally across the UK as we head into the afternoon, but the showers will start
01:49to ease later across Northern Ireland and the west of Scotland, all thanks to a ridge
01:53of high pressure moving in from the west. So, much better day towards the north-west,
01:56certainly into the afternoon here, and temperatures again peaking into the low to mid-twenties
02:00Celsius, 25 in the south-east, 77 in Fahrenheit, nearer to 21 at best towards the north-west,
02:06which again is pretty respectable, even though it is July.
02:09That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to The Met Office Forecast
