00:00The extremists.
00:04The extremists are not done.
00:07For me, and I think Amanda would probably say the same, this isn't the Republican party
00:13I grew up with.
00:14This isn't the party that I supported.
00:21About the things that I'm seeing, that Donald Trump has implemented along the way, and I
00:26have greater concerns about what's to come.
00:30What do you think is next?
00:35We have 111 days to determine that.
00:46Because therein also, in the midst of those who are trying to take individual freedoms,
00:51having the power to make basic decisions about your own life, we should remember the
00:56power of the people to make a decision about who sits in these offices.
01:01And that power rests with us, each one of us.
01:05And in these moments, we should not become dispirited.
01:09This is not a time to throw up our hands.
01:12This is a time to roll up our sleeves.
01:18But you're right.
01:20So the former president, first of all, listen, he hand-selected three members of the United
01:27States Supreme Court with the intention that they would do exactly what they did.
01:32And he's told us over and over again who he is on this subject.
01:36And then now, well, you know, there's a bit of a gaslight going, gaslighting going on
01:40where, oh, well, no, I just believe it should go to the states.
01:43Okay.
01:44So first of all, any of the historians here will know what that means when we start pushing
01:48states' rights.
01:49So let's put that aside.
01:51Okay.
01:53So you believe it should go to the states.
01:55Well, the way I look at it is then let's look at all the, I think it's now 21 or 22, Trump
02:01abortion bans in those 21, 22 states, which again, make no exception, some for rape or
02:11incest, which have contributed to IVF clinics and care being stifled, which have contributed
02:20to women having, I mean, awful experiences around miscarriage, which have contributed
02:27to people who are doctors and nurses and healthcare providers being afraid they might go to jail
02:35for administering care.
02:38And you know, and then recently the former president selected his running mate, the Senator
02:45Vance, J.D. Vance, understand this is a fellow who in the United States Senate participated
02:53in blocking protections for IVF.
02:56This is an individual who has said he is for a national and has made every indication that
03:02he is for a national abortion ban.
03:05And so again, this is where the power is with the people.
03:08We have an election coming up.
03:10Don, listen, in contrast to the former president, Joe Biden has been very clear, has been very
03:17clear.
03:19If there were any attempt at a national abortion ban, he would veto it.
03:23And if we have the right people in Congress, people like Debbie Stabenow and others, and
03:29they put back in law the protections of Roe v. Wade, our president, Joe Biden, will sign
03:34it into law.
