00:00The new season offers up a few tweaks to the popular game after new prices were revealed
00:06this week.
00:07Fantasy Premier League players across the UK will be eagerly awaiting the return of
00:11the Premier League for the 2024-25 season.
00:15Manchester City will be aiming for a fifth successive title and the likes of Erling Haaland
00:20and Mohamed Salah will be popular picks once again, but there will be some significant
00:24changes to FPL for the new campaign.
00:27Here is everything you need to know.
00:30Free transfers.
00:32Players will no longer be limited to just two free transfers.
00:35Instead, it will now be possible to accumulate as many as five free transfers, rewarding
00:40those who avoid the temptation to regularly make new additions.
00:45Saved transfers will also no longer reset to zero when the wildcard and free hit chips
00:49are played.
00:50Pitch.
00:51Eaglide FPL players will notice that the pitch looks different ahead of the new season.
00:57The design has been tweaked with the intention of improving usability.
01:01There will also be player cards for everyone in the team, allowing the user to read key
01:05information when deciding who to start, bench or sell.
01:10Point scoring.
01:11There will be several changes to the point system for 2024-25.
01:15Firstly, goalkeepers will get 10 points instead of 6 for scoring a goal, although the chances
01:21of this happening are of course extremely low.
01:25Goalkeepers' bonus points for saving a penalty will be reduced from 15 to 9.
01:29Meanwhile, a goal line clearance will be worth 3 bonus points and a shot on target 2 bonus
01:35points.
01:36Players will also get a bonus point for winning a foul.
01:40Blank double gameweeks.
01:42Blank and double gameweeks can make things tricky for FPL players.
01:46They often require extra planning and points can easily be dropped.
01:50More casual players are likely to be pleased that there will be fewer blank and double
01:54gameweeks, with the FA Cup schedule meaning fixtures will not clash with Premier League
01:59matches as frequently.
02:01Mystery chip.
02:02Not content with just bench boost, triple captain, free hit and wildcard, FPL have added
02:08a new chip to the mix for the 2024-25 season.
02:12Unfortunately, it will not be available until January, though, and they have yet to reveal
02:17what function it will have.
02:19Inevitably, there will be plenty of speculation around the mystery chip.
02:24But for now it is nothing more than guesswork.
