Philippine mayor tells police investigating Australian couple’s deaths to solve case or step down

The hunt continues for the killer behind the death of three people, including Australian couple, in a hotel room in the Philippine. Police are tight lipped about the motive for why Sydney couple David Fisk and Lucita Cortez were brutally murdered earlier this week.

00:00Even with a triple murderer on the run, tourists in Tagaytay seem unperturbed.

00:08I believe that the police is doing their job.

00:13It's spectacular views which bring tourists like David Fiske, his partner Lucita Cortez and her daughter-in-law Mary here in the first place.

00:21But no one could have known that in such a beautiful place they'd become victims of an ugly crime.

00:27The hunt for their killer, believed to have been captured in CCTV footage, is still underway.

00:33The mayor has demanded the police chief show results fast.

00:38In one week or seven days, if there's no progress resolved then they have to relieve my chief of police.

00:48Australia's extending help to crack the so far bewildering case.

00:53We have offered whatever assistance is required.

01:00It's difficult for us being Australians for it to happen and me having my family here, it's scary as well at the same time.

01:33Police are remaining tight-lipped about exactly how much they do know about the killer.

01:37What were his last known whereabouts? Is he still in the area? Did he know the family?

01:42But they've again pledged to find him as quickly as possible.
