Couple marry and have a baby after meeting in first grade

A couple who met in first grade reunited 10 years later - and are now happily married with a baby.  Jamesia, 21, and Cayden Stapp, 22, first met in the same grade class aged six and seven.  She said she had a "big crush" on her classmate but said she used to "freak" shy Cayden out by being "extroverted".   The pair then separated for the rest of school before reuniting in sophomore year - aged 15 and 16.  This time they hit it off immediately and were "inseparable" and got engaged after just one year together.

00:00Kaden and I have known each other since elementary school.

00:02We had the same class in first and second grade,

00:05and we went to the same elementary school up until fifth grade.

00:09He went to a different school, and then in middle school,

00:12he went to a Christian school, and I just went to a regular school.

00:15So basically, from fifth grade to ninth grade,

00:18we did not see each other, did not have contact with each other at all.

00:22But I will say I did think about him every now and then between that time,

00:25because I just had such a big crush on him when we were younger,

00:28and I would just always think like,

00:29I wonder what Kaden is doing right now.

00:31Like, I remember that kid.

00:32Like, I wonder what he was doing at the time.

00:35Funny enough, we actually lived in the same town the whole time.

00:37We just never came across each other at all.

00:41So the first day of sophomore year comes around,

00:43first day of school, and I'm going to second period.

00:47I walk in, and I see him at the table.

00:51I didn't really know who he was, but I was like,

00:53he looks kind of familiar.

00:55He looked totally different than when we were kids, obviously.

00:58Our teacher had already assigned us seats,

01:00and my seat happened to be right in front of his.

01:03And we had little name tags on our seat for whatever reason in 11th grade.

01:08And I'm not a shy girl.

01:10Like, I'm not really shy when it comes to people or anything like that.

01:13So I was like, he looks familiar.

01:15So I just snatched his name tag up, and I looked at it,

01:17and I was like, oh my gosh, Kaden Stapp.

01:20He was like, I remember you, but I don't remember your name.

01:23And I was like, oh my gosh, it's Juicia.

01:25And we were like, oh my gosh, like, what?

01:27It was a really crazy moment.

01:28And again, he did not really like me like that when we were younger.

01:32So for him to be like excited to remember me and see me,

01:34I was like, oh, word, whatever.

01:36Literally from that moment forward, we were best friends, like inseparable.

01:43Talked every single day.

01:44Like, just you could not, when you saw him, you saw me.

01:48The first time we had hung out with each other at his house,

01:50we were playing GTA 5.

01:53And he just stopped, and he just looked at me.

01:55He was like, can we hug?

01:58But then we already liked each other.

01:59So I was like, yeah, whatever.

02:01And then I remember him just looking me in my eyes.

02:03He was like, I want to ask you to be my girlfriend.

02:05And I was like, I still get so giddy thinking about it.

02:10Because it was the sweetest thing in the whole world.

02:12He was nervous, but he really wanted to do it the right way.

02:14I love that man.

02:16So yeah, we've been together for five years.

02:18We've been married for two and a half years.

02:20Fun fact, Caden actually proposed to me at our one year anniversary.

02:26And we were 16 and 17 when he proposed to me.

02:30It was a real proposal.

02:33Like, he took me to this special spot we used to go to.

02:36He got down on one knee, had a ring, the whole nine.

02:39This was a real proposal at 17 years old.

02:42Looking back, that's insane.

02:45That's literally nuts.

02:46But it really did work out in the end.
