00:00A moment of silence to honour a life lost.
00:10Andreas Pancha was a father of three.
00:12He was fishing at dawn on Frankston Pier last Saturday when he was allegedly attacked and
00:17fatally stabbed.
00:19Police have charged a 36-year-old man with his murder.
00:22This morning, a crowd gathered in solidarity with the family.
00:26All your love and support really helps ease the pain of the family.
00:33Seeing you coming here, walking from there, just no words.
00:40But really we can't thank you enough for all you do.
00:44What an awful loss when he was out doing something just so peaceful on Frankston Pier having
00:49a fish.
00:50Some cast a line in memory of their friend.
00:56He's a very, very good person.
00:59Fun loving and, I don't know, hold on, I don't know what happened really but he's kind and gentle.
01:14While today's vigil has seen the Frankston community come together, their sense of security
01:20that once accompanied morning walks and fishing along the pier has been shaken.
01:25And they're striving to reclaim the peace and safety that has been disrupted.
01:30This random attack should never have happened.
01:32It says something to me about the people who aren't being supported in our mental health
01:36system and their levels of despair and distress that something like this happens.
01:43In the face of tragedy, the spirit of this community endures.
01:47For you, brother Andreas.
