00:00It was a bit of an interesting start to our Saturday morning.
00:05My husband and I were just in our house.
00:07We live in a beautiful 100-year-old Queenslander here
00:11that we run as a bed and breakfast.
00:13And so we were kind of prepping for some guests that we have staying
00:16and then all of a sudden the house just started absolutely shaking
00:20and jolting.
00:21It's like nothing I've ever felt before.
00:25And, yeah, we kind of started second-guessing ourselves
00:28and were running around thinking, was that an earthquake or not?
00:32And then the calls and texts started coming from people
00:34who had heard that an earthquake had hit.
00:37So we kind of realised it was, in fact, an earthquake.
00:40Was there any damage to your place?
00:44No damage, but we did have a good look around after everything stopped
00:50because the house was shaking for probably about seven seconds.
00:54And so we had a good look around afterwards and checked windows,
00:58we've got these old stained-glass windows in the house
01:00that we were a bit worried about.
01:02Thankfully, nothing we can see has been damaged.
01:05But, yeah, really incredible to feel actually the force of the shaking.
01:11It was, yeah, truly, I've never experienced anything like it.
01:15Absolutely.
01:15And those few seconds can sort of feel like an eternity in the time.
01:20Have you felt any aftershocks since?
01:22Nothing at all, which, yeah, I was expecting maybe something else,
01:28but it was truly just about seven seconds of shaking and that was it.
01:33So we'll see if anything else happens later in the day.
01:37Absolutely.
01:38Well, I'm glad to hear there's no damage and no injuries there for you.
01:41Lucinda Ross, thank you so much for your time this morning.
