00:00I've never been involved in politics before so it's been really surprising. The people I've
00:04spoken to have been really supportive. Most of the volunteers that rocked up, I didn't know them
00:13like four and a half weeks ago so that's been lovely as well. It's been nice. I thought
00:20you might get the crazies coming out but no, it's been completely opposite. Everyone's been
00:25really supportive and it's actually been quite a pleasant experience so to speak.
00:32And what would be a good night for you? Winning presumably?
00:35Obviously winning but I mean if we came second after, I mean Labour have been campaigning for
00:40like two years so to come second within five and a half weeks. I only found out that I was the
00:45reform candidate two and a half weeks before the actual election was called so I'd literally got
00:51the website up and running the day after the election was called and then we were like,
00:56right, you know we better start doing other stuff. So yeah, it's been an adventure.
01:02So you'd be happy with the second place? You think that would be a good result for reform?
01:06For a five and a half week campaign, yeah, really good. I mean if we'd had a bit longer
01:11we could have done more. Obviously you've got to sort of get in front of people and we've been
01:15fairly active on social media. We've actually done really well on social media. We're actually
01:19getting out to people and I mean I think we spent about two grand which compared to the other
01:24candidates is very little. And what sort of issues have people been raising with you?
01:31Mainly we've had just cost of living crisis, people struggling money-wise,
01:36obviously I'd say immigration was probably the second issue people have talked about
01:41and just generally just a dissatisfaction with the current Conservative government
01:49and also I spoke to a lot of people who said we weren't going to vote,
01:53which is one of the reasons why I stood for reform because they needed someone to vote for.
