00:00I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but whatever's going on in your life,
00:05I'm here to tell you, you can make it."
00:07Will Smith is continuing his comeback by taking the BET
00:11stage by storm with a performance of his brand new song.
00:14Smith performed his song,
00:15You Can Make It, backed by the Sunday Service Choir, Chandler Moore and Kirk Franklin.
00:20Smith had kicked off the performance standing on what looked like lava surrounded by fire.
00:24So many tests for the flesh, exhausted, gasping to catch your breath.
00:29The performance also featured what looked like rain,
00:31ending with the fire being put out and more inspiring lyrics rapped by Smith.
00:36The rousing performance drew lots of cheers from the audience, who gave him a standing ovation.
00:40Afterwards, Smith tweeted a video of the performance, writing,
00:43I have returned home. The comeback is always bigger than the setback.
00:47In April, Smith hit the stage at Coachella with J Balvin
00:50to perform his hit song, Men in Black, from the 1997 box office blockbuster film of the same name.
00:56Smith's massive career, of course, started as being one half of the hip-hop duo
01:01DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
01:03He went on to star in the hit sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,
01:06before embarking a successful film career.
01:08Smith went on to win Best Leading Actor at the 2022 Oscars for King Richard.
01:13That was also the year of the infamous slapping incident wherein Smith took to
01:17the stage and slapped presenter Chris Rock after the latter made a joke about Smith's wife,
01:22Jada Pinkett Smith.
01:23Smith later apologized and announced that he was resigning from the academy.
01:27Elsewhere, the BET Awards was hosted by Taraji P. Henson,
01:30where Usher was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
