00:00Cardiff must have been one of the only capital cities in the western world that didn't have
00:05a bus station after the old one closed over a decade ago.
00:09But now with the new Cardiff bus interchange, the city finally has a central bus station.
00:15The new site officially opened on Sunday with buses now running to and from the station
00:18throughout the day.
00:19With 14 bays, the station, according to Transport for Wales staff, is capable of seeing up to
00:2560 departures an hour.
00:27A number of Cardiff bus and Stagecoach buses will run from the interchange, with more set
00:31to be confirmed later on in the year, with the hopes that this will bring the majority
00:35of Cardiff-based bus routes to a central location.
00:39The interchange has a big focus on accessibility and hopes to cater for all visitors to the
00:43station.
00:44Cardiff has dealt with confusion over where to catch a bus for years, with bus stops seemingly
00:49randomly scattered around the city centre, but now there's a real hope that the new
00:53interchange will make it easier for visitors, commuters and shoppers in the city.
