Tamworth tree planting on White Street

Tamworth Regional Council celebrates the completion of a tree-planting project on White Street, the first of its kind in the last three decades. Video by Gareth Gardner

00:00Today we're planting the desert ash trees, which has been part of a federally funded

00:12program.

00:13And we're going to see 11 trees along White Street and we've started on our Brisbane Street.

00:19It's all part of the CBD beautification.

00:30Cooling and greening and improving our amenity, improving air and quality and also helping

00:49to cool our streets.

00:51Each tree is taking up one car park.

00:54However, we have ample car parking in the area.

00:59On any one day there are many vacancies right here on White Street.

01:02We have a public car park right at the bottom of White Street, which also has many vacancies

01:08on any one day.
