00:16secrets from the Luigi's Mansion series.

00:36Watering the Boneyard Seed, Luigi's Mansion

00:44The first Luigi's Mansion lets you put your green thumb skills to the test with this cheeky

00:49secret.

00:50In the boneyard area of the mansion, you can find a seed in a patch of garden soil.

00:54Watering this seed with the poltergust water element feature at certain intervals will

00:58eventually produce a flower that bursts with coins, gold bars, bills, and most importantly,

01:03a coveted gold diamond.

01:05To ensure the seed doesn't wither and die, make sure Luigi waters it right away.

01:10There's a handy spigot next to the garden plot, or you can just use the water from the

01:13kitchen tap.

01:14Then simply water the plant after both the Bogmire and Booloss's boss fights.

01:19Doing so in this order will fully grow the flower so you can acquire the secret gold

01:23diamond.

01:29The Map From The First Game, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

01:38As a way to fondly remember his spooky exploits from the first Luigi's Mansion on the Nintendo

01:43GameCube, there's a super easy to miss background secret in the opening of Dark Moon.

01:48As Luigi sleeps on his cozy chair, we are able to see a map hanging on the wall behind

01:53him.

01:54This map looks nearly identical to the map Luigi uses during the opening of the OG Luigi's

01:59Mansion.

02:00It's such a brief yet special snippet that not only pays homage to the first title, but

02:04ensures they are connected together.

02:14The Mario Theme Song, Luigi's Mansion 3

02:21There's a fun little musical secret right at the start of Luigi's Mansion 3 that many

02:25players will likely miss.

02:27Right after the opening cutscene when you first control Luigi as he steps foot into

02:31the Last Resort Hotel, head over to the immediate left side of the lobby where Mario is eyeing

02:36the oodles of cakes, sweets, and plenty of goodies.

02:39As soon as you walk up to Mario and Polterpup, the background music dynamically changes to

02:44a fun version of the iconic Mario theme music.

02:50However, once you walk away from this specific area, the music seamlessly switches back to

02:57the regular lobby music.

03:07The Unique, Clear Game Boy Horror, Luigi's Mansion

03:18While the fact that Luigi's handheld device in Luigi's Mansion is modeled after a Game

03:22Boy Color is certainly no secret, did you know that this clear version of the real thing

03:26was only a Japan exclusive?

03:29Many players might just assume the clear case Game Boy Horror was a specific design choice

03:33just for the game, however this isn't the case.

03:36This special clear version that shows up in the game can actually be used in real life

03:40if you're able to get your hands on one nowadays.

03:42Of course, it's not called the Game Boy Horror in real life, although that would be

03:46quite special indeed.

03:54The GameCube Home Screen Cube, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

03:57Okay, this one is so incredibly rare, with most players likely never even seeing it,

04:09and especially since this easter egg can only be witnessed when Luigi gets pixelated by

04:14Professor E. Gadd.

04:17Not only was the GameCube iconic for its cube-shaped design and handy carrying handle, it also

04:22featured a shiftable cube at the home screen where you can change console settings, fiddle

04:26with your memory card, start a new game, etc.

04:29Interestingly, Dark Moon features a super easy to miss nod to this GameCube cube.

04:34At certain very rare intervals when Luigi gets pixelated, a large cube can be seen moving

04:39and floating alongside the other pixel bits of Luigi.

04:42It's nearly identical to the one from the GameCube menu.

04:51The Barbershop Ghosts, Luigi's Mansion 3 Within the Hotel Shops area of Luigi's

05:02Mansion 3, you might just stumble across the barbershop.

05:06After entering the barbershop by turning the scissors above with both Luigi and Gooigi,

05:10you can uncover two hidden gold ghosts.

05:13If you weren't paying attention when going into the barbershop, you might have just missed

05:16the floating scissors with gold auras.

05:19Well, go ahead and use the poltergust to spin the two barber chairs a bunch of times.

05:23Eventually, a couple of goofy gold ghosts will appear for you to tussle with.

05:27Once defeated, you get some nice little coins and goodies from them.

05:37Mousehole Treasure Room, Luigi's Mansion

05:48For that special Midas touch, check out the mousehole hidden treasure room that can be

05:52accessed via the butler's room in the southwest part of the mansion.

05:56On the right side of the wall, hidden behind some, I guess what look like to be toilet

06:00paper rolls, there's a sneaky little mousehole that you can see with the Game Boy Horror.

06:04Once you get sucked into this hidden room, you are greeted by a bevy of ornate chests.

06:09Although the lights don't seem to be on, yep, don't expect the gold bars, gems, coins,

06:13and bills to come for free here.

06:15You must defeat a handful of ghosts in the room along with some gold bats.

06:19After clearing out the room, the chandelier lights up and you are free to grab all the

06:23goodies to your heart's content.

06:25This lavish treasure room is well worth a visit even if the characters in the paintings

06:29on the pack wall look like they are staring straight into Luigi's soul.

06:40This music sounds familiar, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.

06:52The elevator that leads to the giant spider boss in Gloomy Manor plays a unique little

06:57tune that anyone who ever played Mario Strikers Charge from the Wii will likely remember.

07:02In the pause menu for Mario Strikers Charge, there's some background music that essentially

07:06sounds like music you would actually hear in an elevator.

07:19Well Nintendo clearly thought that too, so when they created this super short elevator

07:24section in Gloomy Manor, they added this music.

07:27It's catchy, relaxing, jazzy, and perfectly Nintendo.

07:40Inspiration from The Shining, Luigi's Mansion 3.

07:51Now you'd be forgiven for missing this subtle nod to the movie version adaptation of Stephen

07:56King's The Shining, however horror buffs likely noticed how the long main hallway rug

08:01on the 11th floor in The Last Resort Hotel looks eerily similar to the carpet found in

08:06the Overlook Hotel in the aforementioned movie, especially during the scene where Danny is

08:11playing on the carpet.

08:20The geometric mind-bending patter is spot on in Luigi's Mansion 3, clearly paying loving

08:25homage to The Shining.

08:32It's Pizza Time Baby, Luigi's Mansion 3.

08:43Who doesn't love a good pizza?

08:45Or three, am I right?

08:46Well Mario clearly chowed down on some yummy pizzas if the discarded pizza boxes are anything

08:51to go by in his hotel room, room 502 to be exact, in Luigi's Mansion 3's RIP Suites

08:57area.

08:58Interestingly, the pizza boxes all state since 1983 on the sides of them.

09:03This awesome little secret nugget of Mario lore just so happens to be the year Mario

09:07made his star-studded debut in the form of Mario Bros.
