Bruce Lehrmann will be billed two million dollars for his failed defamation case against Network Ten and journalist Lisa Wilkinson over an interview with Brittany Higgins. Mr Lehrmann took ten to court after his criminal rape trial was abandoned with no findings against him only to have the federal court find that on the balance of probabilities he did rape Ms Higgins.

00:00The bill is finally in, albeit at a discounted rate and unlikely to ever be paid.
00:08Network 10 told the court the invoices for its defence came to around $3.6 million, but
00:16it was prepared to knock that down to $2 million, which was endorsed by Justice Michael Lee.
00:23The cost battle has run for weeks, with court documents revealing the staggering rates for
00:28top lawyers, including 10's barrister Matthew Collins, who charges $11,000 a day.
00:35Bruce Lehman's lawyers said 10 had run the case in a Rolls-Royce manner.
00:40The lawyers queried a $400,000 bill near the end of the trial, speculated to be due to

00:56But Justice Lee said the costs were no surprise to him.
