00:00When you're ready, introduce yourself, who you are, where you are, what's happening then.
00:02Okay, hello I'm Professor Ken Sloan, I'm the Vice-Chancellor of Harper Adams University
00:07and I'm speaking to you today from FutureFest. FutureFest is an open festival that we've got
00:13on our campus where we're showing everything that we do. We're a university that's really
00:18interested in the future of food and making sure that everyone in the future gets access to food,
00:23good quality food and we do it in a way which keeps our planet safe and we've opened the doors
00:28today to our entire Shropshire community. We are Shropshire's university and we're really really
00:34keen to make sure that people come and they understand what we do. We've got loads of stuff
00:39going on, we've got the different stage side next year, lots of educational talks and cookery demos
00:44and what are those strange pods that have popped up on your front lawn? Yeah, so pollution pods,
00:49amazing thing, it's an art installation that was created by Michael Klinsky and in each of the
00:55five pods you can go into a different country and experience what pollution is like there,
01:00so if you wanted to see what it feels like in Sao Paulo in Brazil or in Beijing or in New Delhi
01:06you'll get a real world experience of what pollution is like in those countries and the
01:10reason we brought it to campus is because a lot of the work we do is about minimising the effect
01:15of the food system on the environment and we want people to understand why we're doing it
01:21because if we don't do that people's quality of life will not be good.
