00:00The family of Bray Wyatt emotionally react to the Wyatt 6 debut, Roman Reigns takes a
00:05shot at Solo Sakoa, a WWE wrestler arrested, and my review of AEW Dynamite.
00:11I'm Oli Davis, and this is DOOMTIME… is the WrestleTalk News.
00:23Roman Reigns hasn't been seen in WWE since losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40.
00:28But if you ask Solo Sakoa, he has been heard from, as Solo claims he's been rebuilding
00:34the Bloodline faction on his Tribal Chief's orders, kicking out Jimmy Uso, recruiting
00:39Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, and terrorising poor Paul Heyman.
00:43But now, for the first time in over two months, we've had an actual development from Roman
00:49himself.
00:50And it's the most 2024 move possible.
00:52He's unfollowed Solo Sakoa on Instagram, implying Reigns is unhappy with what Sakoa
00:57has been doing in his absence.
01:00Speaking of real life merging with pro wrestling…
01:03WORKY MC WORKFACE SEGUE!
01:09Brooks Jensen is going full Brian Pillman down in NXT.
01:13Over the last month, Jensen has been criticising WWE on social media, showing up at indie events
01:19and claiming he's been released, where his non-compete clause apparently expires this
01:24Friday.
01:25In Thursday's episode of NXT, Jensen tried again to gatecrash the taping, entering the
01:29Performance Center through the crowd, only to be taken down by security and later arrested,
01:34where you can see Jensen being put into a police car in the background of an Eddie Thorpe
01:39interview.
01:40He then posted a video on his Twitter the following day saying how he just got out after
01:44spending the night somewhere, which is implied to be jail.
01:48He also did quite a few swear words, asking that's how they write me off, and then posted
01:53a photo of him watching AEW Dynamite.
01:56Jensen has also changed his Twitter name to Ben Buchanan, he's actually the son of wrestler
02:01Bull Buchanan.
02:02In the total opposite of workshoot realism, the Wyatt Sixx debut on Monday's episode
02:06of Raw killed a room full of guys.
02:09I've been meaning to talk to you about that Wyatt Sixx faction, you might want to lay
02:12low for a while.
02:13While that debut might've looked like a scene from a horror movie, it was also a beautiful
02:18tribute to the late Bray Wyatt, as WWE and his brother Bo looked to continue on Wyatt's
02:23vision and legacy, a tribute that another member of the Rotunda family has now commented
02:29off.
02:30Bray and Bo's sister Mika has posted on Instagram how she felt watching the debut
02:34on TV.
02:35Wyndham talked a lot about hurting in his character.
02:38He would describe real life pain and scenarios as a way to kind of harden, inspire or shape
02:43his future.
02:44He turned pain into a positive through creativity and expression.
02:49Last night, Taylor debuted for the first time as Uncle Howdy without Wyndham.
02:54This was their dream, their vision, their fairy tale to fulfil.
02:57He carried this on his back, but more importantly, in his heart.
03:02As siblings, we've always had a strong core detachment to one another.
03:05As the lights went out in the arena and I watched from my TV, my pulse raised, my eyes
03:11every iota with him, while also feeling this warmth that can only be described as Wyndham.
03:17I'm so incredibly proud of Taylor.
03:20Bray was the greatest storyteller I've ever known, and as we embrace the moments of sorrow,
03:25there is a duty to uphold, to keep finding ways to express his madness and genius.
03:30In doing so, it is a testament from our family about the depth of his love, and our love
03:36for him.
03:37Wyndham, wish you were here.
03:40Now it's time for my review of AEW Dynamite… in about 5 minutes.
03:44The episode opened with us all getting the horn, it's still weird when I say it, as
03:50Roosh and MJF finally collided after an intense two week feud.
03:53They were really well matched, with each having their own dickish style.
03:56MJF would fire the crowd up for a chop to then poke Roosh in the eyes.
04:01Roosh would get hyped up for the horns in the corner, but just kick MJF in the face.
04:05The only real clash in styles here was that Roosh thinks wrestling is real, and he's
04:09actually trying to hurt you.
04:11He busted open Max's nose, whipped him with some rope, belly to belly suplexed him off
04:16the ring apron, but MJF fired back with a Heatseeker and a Brainbuster to win an awesome
04:20non-stop fight.
04:21It's great to have Max back in the ring.
04:24For some reason, though, Max being back in the ring is incredibly offensive to luchadors,
04:28said the Cage of Agony announced Hechicero will face MJF at Forbidden Door.
04:32Almost every match or segment on this show furthered multiple stories like that.
04:37And of all of them, I think that Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland face to face did it
04:41best.
04:42After their really good angle at the end of last week's show, they both claimed to be
04:45the best wrestler in the world.
04:47But Swerve said Will relies on the Don Callis family, and he lacks the killer instinct.
04:52Ospreay countered, saying he doesn't need Don Callis, which the family didn't react
04:56well to watching backstage, furthering that split.
04:59And that while Swerve had a hit row, Will had a hit list, and he doesn't need the
05:06Tiger Driver to beat him.
05:08But I don't think Swerve is just talking about Will's reluctance to hit that move
05:12anymore.
05:13He's talking about the depraved depth Strickland will go to to keep his world title, which
05:17Ospreay won't.
05:18Like when Will said don't make this personal, bruv.
05:21So Swerve said hi to Will's family members.
05:24Which, in a different context, might be a nice thing.
05:26Hi to your wife and child.
05:28But when Swerve does it, it's a little more sinister, considering only 9 months ago he
05:32broke into Hangman Page's home and cut a promo on his baby.
05:36And yes, Hangman ended up as the heel in that feud.
05:39Because this is my babyface Swerve, not fighting champion I love AEW Strickland.
05:46Nasty.
05:47Violent.
05:48Gonna cut promos on your kids and drink your blood, Strickland.
05:49I don't know if you can really top last week's six man tag.
05:52I've decided AEW should have a big party match on every show, because after the fun
05:58of last week's trios match, we got one long hot tag here of Mark Briscoe, Kyle O'Reilly,
06:04Orange Cassidy and Dante Martin beating Zack Sabre Jr to cash to Kyle Fletcher and Roderick
06:08Strong.
06:09It showcased multiple different feuds while also keeping them at arm's length, making
06:13you want to see the actual Forbidden Door matches.
06:16O'Reilly sacrificed himself to save Cassidy, furthering their friendship, helping Orange
06:20get the win.
06:21Although the match ended, it didn't really feel like it was over.
06:24Perry jumped Dante on the ramp, Briscoe brawled with the cash to backstage, and Cassidy and
06:28Zack stared down in the ring.
06:30Mercedes Monet got a training promo ahead of her Stephanie Vecchio match.
06:33Don Callis approached a Brooding Roosh backstage with an offer.
06:36Max Caster's audio was cut during his opening rap during their Eliminator match against
06:40the Young Bucks, which was brilliantly revealed to be a card up on the production desk, mortified
06:44that he'd pressed the wrong button.
06:46I'm so sorry, bitch.
06:49The Bucks isolated Bowens due to his taped up knee, but thanks to last second caster
06:53saves and Bowens' own heart, he kept kicking out.
06:56It was the Bucks who beat themselves in the end, when Nick accidentally hit Matt with
07:00the title, letting the Acclaimed pick up the win.
07:02A fine story-based match, but one I struggled to get really invested in because I'm not
07:06into what seems like the long-term direction of the Acclaimed, getting a tag title shot,
07:11and being in blood and guts.
07:13Samoa Joe, Hook and Shabbat are continuing their Pulp Fiction style henchman chats backstage,
07:17where Joe told Hook to be extra when they stormed in on the Premier Athlete's locker
07:22room.
07:23So Hook yelled Doom Time, I think.
07:25Which Joe said, we gotta work on that, man.
07:27Their targets weren't there, but they'd left the note challenging Doom Time for a
07:31collision match.
07:32Raya May was caught in the middle of the Tony Storm vs Mina Shirakawa contract signing.
07:36She said she loved them both, but Mina demanded she choose between them.
07:40Suraya interrupted, adding Anna Jay to her Outcasts faction, and ended up sending Storm
07:44crashing through a table when she dodged the running hip attack.
07:48I'm really into Suraya's work at the moment, and I genuinely don't know who wins in the
07:51first round owing match of Suraya vs May.
07:54I sure do for Chris Statlander, she of the major women's storyline and fresh heel turn
07:58vs Nyla Rose, who hasn't had an AEW TV match since last October.
08:03Chris won with a Tombstone, and Stokely's post-match promo was interrupted by Willow
08:07Nightingale, who will face Chris in the second round if she beats Serena Deep.
08:11Chris Jericho interrupted a private party interview, saying wrestling move names in
08:15Spanish and then translating them to camera in English.
08:19Daniel Garcia got another enhancement match, building his international title shot, this
08:23time beating Rattitus.
08:24But also this time, having a big post-match angle.
08:27The Cage of Agony started beating up Garcia and Daddy Magic for MJF to kind of make the
08:32save because he was just targeting Hechicero for calling him out earlier in the night,
08:36but the numbers game was too strong.
08:38So Ospreay made the save, more for Garcia than MJF, which had Will and Max do the backing
08:43into each other's spot after clearing house, giving us our tantalising first face-to-face
08:48encounter between them.
08:50Making Forbidden Door's main event even more unpredictable.
08:53Are they building Max vs Ospreay now because Will's winning the world title and defending
08:57are all in?
08:58Ospreay told Renee backstage he doesn't give a crap about MJF, Brian Cage confronted
09:02him to get an international title match for Collision.
09:05And the main event was the just-as-unpredictable Owen first round match of Claudio Castagnoli
09:09vs PAC, where either man could've won.
09:12PAC's execution of everything, as always, was perfect, and Claudio's strength and
09:15size provided a great base and European uppercut cutoffs.
09:19It came down to who was the better technician on the night.
09:22After trading a long series of technical pins and two counts, PAC managed a three.
09:27Claudio stormed off upset afterwards.
09:29This is a top 5 Dynamite episode for the year at 85%.
09:33But what are the 10 best wrestling match stipulations of all time?
