Lucky dad from West Yorkshire has won a stunning house in Dorset worth £2.5 million

A lucky father from Pudsey, Yorkshire, has won the keys to a five-bedroom house in Dorset worth £2,500,000 - along with £100,000 in cash - as part of a prize draw that raised £3,150,000 for BBC Children in Need - the home of Pudsey Bear.

00:22 Of course, it was a huge surprise to me that we won.

00:25 I didn't know you'd entered.

00:28 Never in my wildest dreams could I

00:30 imagine that something like this could happen to me, just a small kid

00:33 from a council estate in Leeds.

00:34 It's like something from grand designs.

00:36 I do keep expecting to see Kevin MacLeod pop his head around

00:38 the corner and say, hi.

00:40 This house has a bridge.

00:41 It's like living in a fort.

00:43 Can't wait to get down to the cinema, feet up, popcorn.

00:47 We've already banked 100k with the prize,

00:49 which means we could stay here for 10 years

00:50 without having to lift a finger.

00:52 But we love where we live at the moment, so we are going to sell.

00:55 What this does, above everything else,

00:56 it means we can actually buy a house and have our forever home

01:00 in our beloved Yorkshire.

01:01 We can get all our kids on the property letter now,

01:03 and that's just wonderful to give them the start that we never had.

01:06 It's really important for us to set them up in the world.

01:10 Before we sell this place, we are going to get the family together

01:14 and really celebrate.

01:17 happen to live in Pudsey, which of course

01:19 is where Pudsey Bear comes from.

01:26 Unbelievable, 3.15 million has well and truly

01:31 surpassed all of our expectations.

01:32 We really couldn't be happier.

01:34 The funds raised from this brilliant partnership

01:36 mean that we will be able to support over 25,000 young people

01:40 in communities right across the UK.

01:42 Young people have never needed this support more.

01:45 We can reduce the escalation of mental health issues

01:48 and help minimise the impacts of living in situations of poverty.
