00:12 The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia is said to have issued the order, but the exact

00:16 reason for the suspension remains unknown.

00:20 Under aviation regulations, an ASP is required to transport passengers, mail or cargo by

00:25 air for hire or reward between two or more places, one of which falls within Malaysia's

00:30 borders.

00:31 Once so set, the company, which was formed in 1992, could still operate by leasing its

00:36 aircraft, but it was barred from running air services involving hire or reward passenger

00:41 services.

00:42 A check with the CAM and Malaysian Aviation Commission websites showed that SAS was not

00:47 on the approved ASP list.

00:49 It is also unclear when the suspension order was given.

00:53 The SAS telephone number listed on its Facebook is also no longer in service, while its website

00:58 cannot be opened.
