00:04the independence and sovereignty of Palestine.
00:07According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the European Nation, the process sends
00:12a strong signal to other countries to follow the example of Slovenia, Norway, Spain and
00:17Ireland.
00:18The message added that the recognition of Palestine reaffirms Slovenia's role in the
00:22United Nations Security Council as a promoter of peace and security.
00:27The decision also solidifies Slovenia's long-standing position that a lasting resolution to the
00:33Middle East conflict can only be achieved through the two-state solution, on which there
00:39is a broad international consensus.
00:41The country has thus joined the 146 countries out of the 193 UN members that recognize Palestine
00:50as a sovereign state.
