00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:03 The meaning of le sirène, it's actually the siren in French,
00:28 because I started to swim first before walking.
00:32 And they used to call me the mermaid.
00:34 So mermaid talaga ako.
00:35 And then, of course, since this is my baby,
00:37 I wanted to be the mermaid as well.
00:40 That's why le sirène.
00:43 Hi, my name is Sam Pindo.
00:44 I'm an actress and also a mama and the owner
00:49 of Le Sirène Boutique Resort.
00:51 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:54 [WHISTLING]
00:57 I call it a boutique resort, because normally a boutique
01:07 resort is smaller than a usual hotel.
01:10 And it doesn't have all the glitters and all the amenities
01:15 of the usual hotel.
01:17 And it's kind of like a bed and breakfast,
01:19 because it's smaller and more intimate.
01:22 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:26 The dream was to have my own beach house.
01:28 Yun lang talaga.
01:30 And then I started surfing probably 10 years ago.
01:34 So in La Union, that's where I first started surfing.
01:37 And I super fell in love with it.
01:39 I was surfing every day.
01:41 And then someone told me about Balear.
01:43 So I thought, why not try Balear?
01:45 So I went there and fell in love with it right away.
01:47 So the hunt for the beach house started.
01:52 And then ending, the property that I acquired
01:55 was 3.5 hectares.
01:57 So I was like, hmm, why not make a business out of it
02:00 and share this paradise to everybody else?
02:03 Because it's so big.
02:05 So there.
02:06 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:10 I chose Balear because it still has that province charm,
02:19 beach vibes.
02:20 Hindi pa siya yung super commercialized feeling.
02:23 So when you're there, feeling mo talaga,
02:26 you can see the mountains on the side,
02:28 and then down in coconut trees.
02:29 So it feels very rural pa rin.
02:32 And also, the vast beach.
02:35 You can actually surf anywhere there.
02:38 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:42 I wanted it to be very minimalist, as you can see.
02:50 Kasi hirap ng maintenance sa beach.
02:52 And I want it very clean.
02:54 That's why it's all white.
02:56 And of course, the main info, again, is the mermaids.
02:59 So I want everyone to feel like they're a mermaid when they're
03:01 there under the sea.
03:03 Ganun.
03:03 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:07 The property itself is 3.5 hectares.
03:09 But the developed area is actually just about 800.
03:14 Malit lang siya from the parking lot to the reception.
03:17 I don't know if you noticed.
03:18 But the reception is walang--
03:21 hindi yung entrance na sa likod.
03:23 Because we wanted it to be facing--
03:26 like a U facing the water.
03:28 So that all the blessings and whatever from the water
03:32 nakakatch ng reception.
03:34 Kasi that's the main area for everybody.
03:37 And then there's the three clusters, ABC.
03:41 And each cluster have five rooms.
03:44 And then there are two types of rooms, the deluxe rooms
03:46 and the super deluxe rooms.
03:48 The only difference is that the super deluxe room is a bit
03:50 bigger.
03:51 And it can accommodate six people,
03:54 while the deluxe room can accommodate four people.
04:00 And then you go-- in the middle, of course,
04:02 is the lounge pool.
04:03 This was designed to be literally a lounge pool.
04:07 Because it's so shallow.
04:08 I think it's only like three feet, four feet.
04:10 And you can just sit down and drink with your friends
04:14 and watch the sunset.
04:15 Kasi the sunset of Baler is on the other side.
04:17 It's not by the beach.
04:18 Sunrise of beach.
04:20 And then it's also perfect for kids, because it's so shallow.
04:24 So at least parents can drink and kids
04:27 can play at the same time.
04:30 And then moving on to the middle part of the resort
04:33 is the restaurant.
04:36 And the in-house restaurant is called Hungry Mermaid.
04:40 And it's a homegrown restaurant.
04:42 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:47 And then the newest part of it is the function room,
04:50 which is called the Coral Hall.
04:51 It's perfect for my intimate events and parties
04:55 that can be indoors.
04:56 But we also offer the Sirens Place,
04:58 which is like the beachfront area
05:01 with a lot of coconut trees.
05:02 It's super nice for weddings and all that.
05:05 And that's 3,000 square meters.
05:07 So that's perfect for weddings again and any events,
05:10 actually.
05:11 My mom actually spent her 70s in the beach.
05:14 So it was her 70th birthday there.
05:18 We booked the whole resort for the whole family.
05:20 It's super fun, because it's like we're the only ones there.
05:24 Above the restaurant is my house.
05:27 You can see both views, the pool view and the beach view.
05:32 Because both views are so pretty.
05:33 So that's my favorite part.
05:35 Of course, I live there.
05:38 And then, of course, the last part
05:40 would be the best part would be the beach.
05:44 So if you want to make your experience more beachy,
05:47 you can try the Bonfire by the Beach.
05:49 And also, we offer tours in the local area,
05:52 which you can visit the fountain and all the other beaches
05:55 in that area.
05:58 So I suggest you try surfing if you haven't yet.
06:01 You can try it in our beachfront.
06:02 It is 500 per hour with a surf instructor.
06:05 Also comes with a board.
06:13 Why do I think my property is unique?
06:15 Because number one, it offers the exclusivity in that area,
06:19 because I have no neighbors.
06:22 And you feel like it's your own little paradise,
06:27 because it's only 15 rooms.
06:28 So it just feels like home.
06:33 I'm in charge of the whole design, the whole look,
06:37 everything.
06:38 Marketing, that's me.
06:40 It's hard, but also fun, because we love it.
06:43 Number one is the maintenance, because my sister's
06:47 operation.
06:47 So the upkeep of the maintenance,
06:50 because of the salt air, everything rusts.
06:54 Also, since it's seasonal, it's the beach.
06:58 It's only peaked during summers and maybe Christmas time.
07:02 You have to manage everything properly,
07:04 because it's not the whole year peak.
07:07 Especially August, September, those
07:10 are really the dead, dead months.
07:12 So you just have to know how to balance
07:14 your finances and everything.
07:16 Well, showbiz is not going to be there forever,
07:23 unless you want it to.
07:25 But it's something you cannot control all the time.
07:29 But the business, if you have one, you can control it.
07:32 You can do whatever you want with it.
07:34 Especially if you love doing it, it's going to flourish.
07:37 All your downs, you're going to learn from it,
07:41 and just make everything better.
07:45 Probably do everything right from the very beginning.
07:48 You have to do your research as well.
07:50 And as much as possible, talk to the local government
07:53 in that area on how to do things.
07:55 Because what we prioritize is to get only locals
08:00 to work in a resort.
08:02 I feel like it's giving back to-- since I'm not from there,
08:05 and why not help the people who is from there?
08:09 Especially if you're new or you don't know anything
08:12 about putting up a resort, because a lot
08:14 of technical stuff with the environment and all that.
08:18 Just do everything from the very beginning,
08:20 because if not, it's going to be a headache later on.
08:23 And then just have fun with it, especially if it's your dream.
08:27 It's going to flourish, really.
08:30 Hey, guys.
08:35 I'm Sam Pinto, inviting all of you
08:37 to please visit Le Sirene Boutique Resort in Bel Air.
08:40 So if it's your first time trying surfing or just
