00:42 Hello and welcome to From the South.
00:48 My name is BelĂŠn de los Santos and from the TeleServe studios in Havana, Cuba, we begin with the news.
00:54 [Music]
01:09 On Thursday, the Israeli occupation army took control of a strategic Philadelphia corridor,
01:15 a key passage for humanitarian aid located in the border between Gaza and Egypt.
01:20 With the support of the United States, the government of Israel is once again overstepping a red line
01:26 in opposition to the majority of the international community.
01:29 In turn, Tel Aviv's military operation justified the maneuver,
01:33 claiming that it cuts off the flows of allegedly smuggling through the tunnels,
01:38 a way according to them to weaken Hamas.
01:41 However, human rights defenders pointed out that this is a dangerous advance into Egyptian territory
01:47 and a maneuver that could put a strange hold on any entry of humanitarian aid.
01:53 And in Palestine, citizens evacuated south on Gaza Strip due to the risk of new airstrikes by the CNS regime.
02:04 According to local media, the Gaza people dismantled the refugee camps located in supposedly safe areas
02:11 such as Al-Mawassi, Rafa and Han Younis in the face of the constant Israeli bombardment.
02:17 Also, men and women from the Gaza Strip have assured that most of the victims of the Israeli airstrikes
02:23 have been women and children who were inside the tents at the time of the bombing.
02:29 It should be noted that in the last week, Tel Aviv has killed at least 100 Palestinians
02:34 in addition to several babies amid attacks on the facilities of the United Nations Refugee Agency
02:40 in Gaza Strip.
02:42 The government of Algeria requested before the Security Council of the United Nations Organization
02:51 to halt the military offensive in the city of Rafa.
02:55 The Algerian ambassador to the UN, Ammar Benj Djamma,
02:58 presented a motion for a resolution for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
03:03 He also called for the release of all the hostages captured since the escalation of the Israeli siege
03:08 on October 7th.
03:10 In this regard, Benj Djamma condemned the indiscriminate targeting of civilians, women and children,
03:16 as well as civilian infrastructure.
03:19 The original sin of all this suffering is the occupation that continues,
03:30 the oppression that keeps on treating the symptoms without treating the causes,
03:34 which is the occupation of the Palestinian land, of the Palestinian territory.
03:39 It will not lead to a lasting peace.
03:41 The suffering of the Palestinian people began with the occupation
03:44 and will come to an end when the occupation ends.
03:47 In that sense, the Security Council has the greatest responsibility
03:51 and must fully implement its own resolutions.
03:54 China's ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, Fu Kong,
04:00 said that Israel's attacks on Gaza aggravate the humanitarian crisis.
04:05 Allowing the fighting to continue will only deepen the humanitarian catastrophe
04:11 and plunge the entire region into greater turmoil.
04:14 The international community, the Security Council in particular,
04:17 must take further steps to promote an immediate ceasefire,
04:20 save lives and alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
04:26 In this context, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres,
04:31 condemned as an unprecedented event the destruction of Israel, the army and the Gaza Strip.
04:36 The UN official described as unacceptable the Tel Aviv genocide against the Palestinian population,
04:42 which has resulted in countless civilian deaths and the destruction of their homes.
04:47 The UN Secretary General also called on Israel to respect the decisions
04:52 of the International Court of Justice, which forced it to stop its military operation in the city of Rafah.
04:58 In the last week, Tel Aviv has killed at least 100 Palestinians,
05:02 most of them women and children, in airstrikes targeting refugee camps in the Gaza Strip.
05:08 In this context, the Brazilian government withdrew its ambassador to Israel, Federico Meyer,
05:18 and will not appoint another person to the post in the immediate future.
05:22 President Lula da Silva made official the departure of the diplomat
05:26 by appointing him as representative to the disarmament conference in Geneva,
05:31 which increases the tensions between both countries.
05:34 This after they exchanged harsh declarations regarding the conflict in the Gaza Strip,
05:39 the genocide on the Gaza Strip, and Tel Aviv declared that Brazilian President,
05:44 Bolsonaro, is not a "grateful person". The Brazilian diplomatic headquarters will be headed
05:48 by the Charter First, Fabio Moreira Farias, in a clear demonstration of the reduction
05:53 in the levels of relations between the countries.

09:11 50,000 people disappeared. You are living it here in Nuevo LeĂłn.
09:15 12 children murdered.
09:18 40,000 young people murdered. That is the result of a security strategy
09:22 where the hugs have been for the criminals and the bullets for the citizens.
09:25 It is over.
09:28 You will have the bravest president, the president that will face crime.
09:32 We will work together, for the good of you and for the good of the families.
09:37 And Jorge Álvarez Maínez, presidential hopeful for the citizens' movement,
09:44 reiterated his proposals during the closing of his campaign in Tlaxcala, east of Mexico City.
09:50 During his speech at the BlackBerry Auditorium,
09:53 he proposed to improve the social insurance program Segura Popular
09:57 and to implement taxes on companies that manufacture products that are harmful to health.

10:07 which in his opinion should have a preventive model.
10:11 During his speech, he also pledged to work for the decriminalization of marijuana
10:16 and to fight for the right to the legal termination of pregnancy.

11:08 In other news, the electoral power of Venezuela rejected the interference attitude of the European Union
11:14 in the upcoming elections of July 28 and ratified the sovereignty and self-determination of the people
11:20 to decide their destiny without foreign intervention.
11:23 The president of the National Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso, referred to a statement issued by the European Union,
11:29 in which he affirmed that considerations are of exclusive competence of the Venezuelans.
11:34 Amoroso denounced this as a new act of interference, while reiterating that no foreign organization
11:42 has the competence to decide on the electoral oversight program of Venezuela.
11:46 In this sense, he assured that the decisions made within the National Electoral Council
11:51 are made in the exercise of sovereignty.
12:02 The decisions taken within the National Electoral Council are made in the exercise of sovereignty,
12:07 and in the particular case of revoking the invitation to the European Union,
12:10 respond to the hostile and disrespectful attitude of this bloc against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
12:16 The European Union has behaved as a biased and aggressive actor, which infringes national dignity
12:21 and additionally becomes a factor of interference in the electoral processes,
12:25 maintaining the illegal and the illegitimate implementation of coercive unilateral and genocidal measures
12:31 with the sole objective of causing damage to the Venezuelan population.
12:35 In this way, the President of the National Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso,
12:40 affirmed that the revocation of the invitation extended to the European Union
12:44 to accompany the Venezuelan elections, respond to a sovereign action
12:48 and is due to the imposition of sanctions by the European bloc against Venezuela.
12:57 The electoral power of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, a free, sovereign and independent nation,
13:02 repudiates the unusual communique of the European Union,
13:06 in which it issues considerations that are of exclusive competence of the Venezuelan people,
13:11 turning the European Union into a new act of interference
13:14 that pretends to meddle in the decisions of the Venezuelan National Electoral Council.
13:18 We don't accept it.
13:20 No foreign organization has the authority to decide on the electoral oversight program of Venezuela.
13:26 Also in Venezuela, the people mobilized in support of President NicolĂĄs Maduro
