00:00 Yellowstone has officially resumed production on season 5.
00:03 Paramount Network announced Monday that filming on the western hit's final season 5 episodes
00:09 is now underway in Montana. While the start of production was later than previously thought,
00:14 MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios still expect the drama to return in November,
00:19 as previously announced last year. Monday's announcement did not include an update on the
00:23 show's cast or whether star Kevin Costner will make an appearance in the final episodes that
00:28 are expected to wrap the series. Yellowstone aired its most recent episode more than a year ago,
00:33 back in January 2023, amid Paramount Network deciding to split the season into two parts.
00:38 Talks of infighting over scheduling and script delays between Costner and showrunner Taylor
00:43 Sheridan ensued for many months, with Costner also focusing on his upcoming western epic Horizon,
00:48 an American Saga. Costner recently said he would like to be able to return to the show to finish
00:53 his character. Here's what he told Entertainment Tonight. "Maybe this will circle back to me. If
00:57 it does and I feel really comfortable with it, I'd love to do it." However, if Costner is not
01:02 involved at this stage, with scripts complete and filming underway, it's starting to seem less
01:07 likely that he will be. An official episode count also has yet to be revealed by the network.
01:11 Sheridan has previously said he might make more than the previously reported six final episodes.
