00:00 Our first look at David Cornswet as the new Superman is here.
00:03 Filmmaker James Gunn shared this image of Cornswet suited up as the Man of Steel on
00:08 social media Monday with the caption, "Get ready." Cornswet marks only the fourth actor
00:12 to play Superman in the character's nearly 50-year big-screen career. Previous actors
00:17 to portray the Man of Steel include Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh, and Henry Cavill.
00:21 There's a lot riding on Gunn's new movie, which was previously called Superman Legacy,
00:25 but is now simply titled Superman, as it is set to launch DC Studios' New Universe and Slate.
00:31 Back in February, Gunn shared this photo of the movie's cast after the film's table read,
00:35 writing, "What a wonderful day." Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane in the project,
00:40 told The Hollywood Reporter this about that day.
00:42 "It was so much fun. This is such a talented group of people. One of the loveliest groups
00:46 of people I've ever gotten to meet. It was so fun to get to hear people embody these characters.
00:51 We've been sitting with this script, making all these characters up in our head for so long,
00:56 and so it was great to hear it out loud. I can't wait to start shooting."
00:58 Principal photography on the film started on February 29.
01:02 Warner Bros. will release Superman on July 11, 2025.
