00:00The London mayoral election is taking place this week on May 2nd. Locals in the capital
00:08will be heading down to the polling station with IDs to cast their vote. But how many
00:13candidates can Londoners actually name, is the election important and what are the key
00:18issues that need to be addressed?
00:21How many candidates do you know that are running? Could you name some candidates?
00:25Do you know, I can only actually name that Sadiq Khan is standing.
00:30What's your thoughts on the mayoral election? Is it an important thing?
00:35I think it is important. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and he was
00:40like saying that he's going for an independent candidate because he's worried about the crime
00:44rate. I, to be honest, I haven't looked much further because I'm going to vote for Sadiq
00:49and so therefore I haven't, maybe I should have looked into all the others as well, but
00:53I just felt that that's who I would vote for.
00:56If you could focus on one thing about London, what would it be?
00:59I would say EULAs. You know, it's difficult for a lot of builders. I do labour and stuff
01:04and it's a lot of money to get your tools up and down. Transport, you don't do it.
01:09So you'd say it's a big issue then, EULAs?
01:11It is a big issue and it's killing a lot of trades and costing a lot of money just to
01:17get into their workplaces.
01:19Is that mainly because the vans are diesel as well?
01:21Yeah, because they're slightly older and it's a lot of money to get a new van. You can't
01:25all do it.
01:26If there was one thing in London that you could improve on, what would it be?
01:30Okay, so when I came to London, the picture of London in my head, it was like a clean
01:37city. So it is clean but not everywhere. So if I were the mayor, I would go for the, you
01:45know, cleaning each corner. Like when we go to Luton or Ilford, it's not a good idea
01:53to look at the streets at all corners. So it's not that much clean.
