00:00Reform UK have announced their new candidate for London Mayor, Leila Cunningham.
00:06Now, Miss Cunningham has already been accused of talking down the UK's capital
00:12after she said that people pity Londoners.
00:17Leila Cunningham, a former senior Crown prosecutor and a Reform Westminster City councillor,
00:23used a central London press conference to claim that the capital was a crime-ridden city,
00:31billing herself as a new sheriff in town who would, if elected, launch an all-out war on crime.
00:38The new candidate said this despite Khan announcing fairly recently
00:43that there had been a reduction in many crimes across the capital.
00:47As Nigel has said, today we are announcing that I'm standing to be the next mayor of London.
00:55Now, I know that we're still two and a half years away,
00:58but the election on May 7th is the first step.
01:02It's the first step to reclaiming our city.
01:05Now, these local elections, I tell everyone, will be a referendum on Sadiq Khan,
01:09on Labour's broken London.
01:12It's London's chance to vote out every councillor who's propped him up
01:16and stayed silent while he's let our city down.
01:20From now until May, I will be spearheading our campaign,
01:23touring every borough, because for the first time in years,
01:27Londoners finally have a real alternative.
