00:44 And I think if we continue to do that and build that culture,
00:47 as well as add a lot of young guys that are hungry and wanna win,
00:51 which we've been able to do, then we can keep this thing going.

01:03 I don't play the quarterback position the way I think it was supposed to be played.
01:08 But I know how to compete.
01:09 I learned that by playing every sport.
01:11 Not necessarily being the best at every single sport, but
01:13 I wanted to find ways to win.
01:15 And I could have probably went to the draft out of high school in baseball.
01:18 But I decided that I wanted to have that college experience and get my education.
01:22 And after my sophomore year, Coach Kingsbury came up to me and
01:27 said, I'll never tell you to give up something that you love.
01:30 But I think if you really focus on football for
01:32 one year of all football, that you'll get drafted in the first round.
01:36 And at that time, I was like, let's do it.
01:38 And I ended up being a first rounder, so he was right.

01:41 If I watch a baseball game, especially in person,
01:44 I'm sitting there itching.
01:45 I'm like, man, I wish I could have a chance to just go out there for a little bit.
01:48 But I've talked to the Royals, and obviously I'm a part owner in that team.
01:53 And if I can maybe go out to a spring training, I'm not opposed to that.
01:56 Maybe not in the games, but I can at least practice with them.

02:03 My pregame rituals are pretty simple.
02:06 I'm a baseball player, so I'm superstitious.
02:08 So I ate the same meal, just steak and eggs,
02:12 with a little bit of hash browns or fries, little carbs.
02:15 And then I wear the sleeve, have the same warmup routine, and wear the headband.
02:21 People think it's odd that I wear the same underwear to every game I play.
02:24 I don't wear it during the game, but I wear them to the game.
02:28 But I don't think it's that bad.
02:29 I wash them after every time I wear them.

02:34 I wanna be the best that I can be as a player.
02:36 What's the best that Patrick Mahomes can be?
02:38 And then whenever I'm trying to do stuff off the field,
02:40 I wanna be with people that have that same mindset.
02:43 And I think I learned that from guys like Kobe and even LeBron and
02:47 Tom Brady, all these other greats, that they wanna be around great people.
02:51 And it makes them be even greater.
02:53 I define influence as being able to be who you are and
02:57 make an impact in the world.
02:58 And that's by being a good role model to kids, but a good person in the community
03:03 that hopefully will make the community a better place whenever I leave it.
