It was another busy week for Lancashire’s emergency services as police, fire and ambulance crews dealt with a number of serious incidents.
From human remains found on a beach to a grandad killed in a hit and run crash, these are the incidents which made the headlines this week...

00:05 Gazette and these were the breaking incidents from across the county this week.
00:10 Man wanted after robbery on Preston to Longridge bus.
00:13 A police investigation is underway after a robbery on a Preston bus.
00:16 Lancashire Police said a passenger was robbed aboard the number one service from Preston
00:20 to Longridge at around 3.15pm on Thursday, January 11th.
00:24 The force has released a CCTV image of the suspect.
00:29 Folks killed and woman injured in Leyland Hit and Run.
00:32 A teenager was arrested after a motorbike crashed into a woman and killed her two dogs
00:35 yesterday.
00:36 The young man reportedly lost control of his bike and mounted the pavement in Royal Avenue,
00:40 near Wadham Park, at around 10.15am.
00:43 He struck a woman in her 50s walking her two dogs and fled the scene on his bike.
00:47 Sadly, both dogs died and the woman suffered injuries to her leg.
00:51 An 18-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, ABH,
00:56 disqualified driving and driving with no insurance.
00:58 He was bailed until July.
01:01 A man seriously injured in a bypass crash.
01:04 Police were called at around 1.15pm on April 1st to report a collision between a white
01:09 BMW and a blue Volkswagen Golf on the Heysham Bypass, near to the junction of Heysham Road
01:14 and Milton Road.
01:15 The man is thought to have suffered from chest injuries.
01:17 Thankfully, they are thought not to be life-threatening.
01:20 A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving
01:25 and has since been released under investigation.
01:29 Lancashire Police Officer Injured in Hit and Run
01:32 A black Volkswagen Polo was stolen on Newchapel Street sometime between March 26th and 2nd
01:38 of April 2nd.
01:39 An officer was carrying out enquiries in the Mill Hill area of Blackburn.
01:42 Early on Wednesday morning, a spot of an ongoing investigation to the theft.
01:46 When he spotted the car parked in Fred Pickering Place, shortly after 11.50am, the officer
01:51 went to the front of the vehicle to speak to the driver.
01:53 The car was then deliberately driven into the officer, causing him to go onto the bonnet
01:57 and onto the ground.
01:58 The Volkswagen then collided with a Seat Leon.
02:01 The officer was taken to hospital for treatment, but police said his injuries are not believed
02:05 to be life-threatening.
02:06 A 36-year-old wanted on recall to prison
02:13 Richard Layfield is wanted for failing to adhere to his notification requirements and
02:17 on recall to prison.
02:19 The 36-year-old is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, of medium build, with a bald
02:24 head.

02:39 A Lancashire Police Officer remains under investigation after he was filmed kicking
02:42 a drink-driving suspect in the head.
02:44 The incident was captured on camera outside a spa in Thwaites Road, Osselt Whistle, around
02:48 12.30pm on March 8 and was later shown on social media.
02:51 In the video, the officer was filmed dragging the driver out of a Ford Focus and wrestling
02:55 him to the floor.
02:56 He is seen stamping on the man's back as another officer applied handcuffs.
02:59 He then is seen kicking the suspect in the head and repeatedly slapping the man, who

03:04 Lancashire Police said the officer was responding to reports of a drink-driver.
03:07 The force said the officer has been removed from operational roles and remains on deaths
03:11 duty while the incident is investigated by the Constabulary's Professional Standards

03:16 A Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Stabbing Police have charged a man with murder following
03:22 a fatal stabbing in Cone.
03:24 Officers were called to Newmarket Street where paramedics were treating a man with a number
03:27 of serious injuries at around 2.25pm on Sunday.
03:30 The man, 34-year-old Richard Chamberlain, sadly died a short time later.
03:34 A post-mortem examination established the cause of Richard's death as multiple stab
03:38 wounds.
03:40 Frank Rona, 44, of Newmarket Street, was arrested on suspicion of Richard's murder on Sunday.
03:44 He was later charged with murder following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
03:51 Family Paid Tribute to Grandad Killed in E-Bike Crash
03:54 The family of a man who died after being hit by an e-bike in Burling have paid a heartbreaking
03:58 tribute to him.
04:01 The grandad was a pedestrian on Accrington Road shortly after 4.20pm on Friday, March
04:05 22nd.
04:06 86-year-old Bart O'Hear was taken to hospital where he sadly later died.
04:10 Paying tribute to Bert, his family said, "Bert was such a kind and lovable dad, brother and
04:16 grandad who has been taken away from family and friends in such a tragic manner.
04:20 As a family, we would like to thank all the emergency services involved for all their
04:24 work.
04:25 Bart, you will be missed by so many.
04:26 May you now rest in peace."
04:27 An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving
04:32 and failing to stop at the scene of an injury road traffic collision.
04:35 He was later released on bail while police inquiries continue.
