Chairman Phil Hewitt launches the Festival of Chichester

Committee members and event organisers gathered in the Novium in Chichester to celebrate the programme for this year's summer festival which starts on June 15.

00:00 I think I've been fretting, worrying too much about tonight's launch.

00:04 I had the weirdest panic dream last night, I really did,

00:08 in which you were four times the number and you were all in our sitting room.

00:13 [laughter]

00:15 And I looked out the window and there was a queue snaking back.

00:19 And I said, "Please, can you spread in the garden or go upstairs or at least go home?"

00:25 And then, in true fashion of a panic dream, I looked down and I was in my pyjamas.

00:30 So I can't tell you what a relief it is to be properly dressed.

00:34 In your pyjamas.

00:36 No, properly dressed and actually here.

00:39 Because tonight is such an important night for the Festival.

00:43 Tonight is the night that we unveil our programme.

00:46 Now it's been a long time in preparation, but tonight we can actually say,

00:50 "I have a piece of paper in my hand, here it is, and it's packed full of brilliant things."
