00:00 Good afternoon to all of you and good afternoon, Usec Marge.
00:04 Good afternoon to you, Nina. How was your holy week?
00:07 It was good. We're back to work again. Back to normal.
00:11 So before we go to our news,
00:14 and that's a big one, of course, let's ask for an update from the Usec Marge's department,
00:19 the Department of Justice.
00:20 Yes, Nina. So, slowly, there are 7-
00:24 The news that you released hundreds of PDLs.
00:29 Yes, Nina. More than 700 PDLs, or Persons Deprived of Liberty,
00:35 were released by the Department of Justice to continue
00:38 the broadening and improvement of services to the poor in the country.
00:42 The Bureau of Corrections Director Gregorio Catapang Jr.
00:47 led the release of 745 PDLs yesterday
00:51 in New Belivid Prison in Muntinlupa.
00:54 They were accompanied by Public Attorney's Office Chief Percida Rueda Acosta and Board of Pardons and Parole Chairperson Sergio Calizo.
01:02 The released PDLs were from various penal facilities under the Bucor,
01:07 such as Belivid, Correctional Institution for Women, Davao Prison and Penal Farm, and Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm.
01:16 Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boyang-Remullia
01:21 led the release of the new prisoners who have already turned their pasts and will face the future with hope.
01:28 The PDLs were released after being acquitted of giving parole, conditional pardon,
01:35 or not being beneficiaries of the Good Conduct Time Allowance Law.
01:39 Okay, that's good news, Usec Marge.
01:42 And we also have another news about the stickers being issued at the airport
01:49 from the Bureau of Immigration, Usec.
01:52 You're right, Ninia.
01:53 Since yesterday, April 1, the Bureau of Immigration stopped giving arrival stickers to Filipinos from other countries
02:02 on their way to the electronic gates or e-gates of the International Ports of Entry of the country.
02:08 According to Immigration Commissioner Norman Tonsinco,
02:11 the agency streamlined or simplified the process of e-gates and as a replacement for stickers,
02:19 Filipinos entering the country will receive an email confirmation of their arrival.
02:25 Commissioner Tonsinco explained that the removal of the sticker printing feature of e-gates
02:30 is also in accordance with the mandate of the agency to provide effective and efficient immigration service to travelers.
02:38 However, Commissioner Tonsinco clarified that despite the removal of the sticker,
02:44 it is still possible for passengers to request for arrival stamps to their immigration officers
02:51 who are really in the countries if they wish.
02:55 So you can request, or you can not.
02:58 You can not get a stamp.
03:00 You can request.
03:01 Alright.
03:02 Thank you very much, Usec Marge, for sharing our updates from DOJ.
