00:00 It's a much bigger task than usual but it's super exciting.
00:04 Kind of all we really want to do is just get people down onto the harbour,
00:07 experience some good music in the sun, kind of make sure that we've got as many
00:11 kind of local brands there, partners, sponsors and stuff.
00:17 One thing Bristol has always been known for is its music scene
00:21 and 2024 is set to be no different with some iconic artists visiting the city
00:26 for this year's Bristol Sounds. Let's chat to the team to find out more.
00:31 I work for the Cross Town Concerts team in Bristol and I head up all of the
00:38 marketing on Bristol Sounds. We've got a great team
00:42 and yeah it's kind of just pulling everything together, all of the logistics
00:46 to make sure that the event happens and make sure everybody knows about it.
00:49 We've always been focused in Bristol, we've actually just expanded our Bristol
00:53 office so we we're wanting to make sure that there's as much available here as
00:56 possible because most of us at Cross Town are
00:59 Bristol based. There is a lot of passion for Bristol and trying to be able to
01:03 bring as much as we can, kind of community-wise and there are so
01:07 so many cool brands who are just so up for helping
01:11 music industry people and music industry businesses
01:14 and it's just probably from a communications way and from a building
01:17 up the community way, just the perfect place for us to keep
01:20 doing this. But while the city of Bristol and beyond is very much in a cost of
01:25 living crisis, why are music events that bring people
01:29 together so important? This is something that we really try to
01:33 keep in mind. We're an independent promoter which
01:36 comes with its challenges at times but also it means that we can be a little
01:40 bit more in touch with what people can afford and what people need.
01:44 As things kind of suck a little bit at the moment so it's nice to be able to
01:47 give people you know something to go to with a lot
01:49 of sunshine in the most kind of cost effective way that we can
01:53 with some really fun artists so yeah feeling positive about it this year.
