A 26-year-old part-time model has been charged with killing her lover.

A. Tamilselvi was accused of killing V. Gawsigan, 26, at a house in Rimbayu Perennia in Teluk Panglima Garang, Kuala Langat at around 5.30am on March 11.

00:22 Maslinda Selamat on Friday.
00:25 No plea was recorded as murder cases come under the purview of the High Court.
00:30 The former medical student was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and faces the
00:36 death sentence or up to 40 years in jail with no fewer than 12 strokes of the cane, if found

00:43 Her lawyer, Ethan Tan, requested for his client be referred to a hospital for mental evaluation,
00:49 claiming that she was suffering from bipolar disorder and had trouble recalling incidents
00:54 on the day in question.
00:56 He added that his client has heart disease and needs a pacemaker.
01:01 Deputy Public Prosecutor Khadijah Amir Hamza did not offer any bail as the offence was

01:08 She also said there was no documented evidence from the defence of either bipolar disorder

01:35 It was reported on March 12 that a photographer died after allegedly being stabbed by his

01:42 It is believed the incident was triggered by jealousy as the woman thought the deceased
01:46 was being unfaithful.
01:48 She was arrested in the vicinity of Hospital Cyberjaya at around 12.30pm on March 11 when
01:55 she brought the victim there for treatment.
