Couple left seriously injured after violent altercation with neighbour

An argument over a dog in Western Sydney has left a couple with potentially life-long injuries. Police allege a neighbour made threats with an axe before ploughing into them with a large car.

00:24 Ran over him twice, reversed back, hit their car and then drove off.

00:43 Police say it started with an argument between Mr Hickey and Corey Porter, who lives up the

00:48 road from Ms Robertson.

00:50 It was over their dogs.

00:52 Ms Robertson went to speak to the 29-year-old. Police allege that as the dispute escalated,

00:57 Mr Porter threatened Mr Hickey with an axe.

01:00 Revved his engine about three times, sped up, hit them.

01:05 Both suffered serious head injuries and Mr Hickey has broken and dislocated bones.
