00:00 How does it feel to return to the Oscars?
00:02 Oh fabulous! It's always great. You never know what's going to happen.
00:06 I mean a couple of years ago we were here and somebody slapped somebody.
00:10 So it was fascinating. Oh you look surprised, you don't remember?
00:14 I do remember, but you just reminded me.
00:17 You never know what's going to happen. Not only that, I just love seeing all these celebrities.
00:23 I don't know most of them. Well you know we don't.
00:27 People assume that we're all friends and all that. We're not. We don't know each other.
00:32 So if that happens and there's someone I love, I go over and introduce myself.
00:39 I just got to meet that person.
00:42 And you know I'm always kind of a little surprised when they say, "Yes I know who you are."
00:47 And I think, "Wow."
00:49 Have you done that to anyone here yet tonight?
00:51 No, I've been too busy doing this tonight.
00:54 But you can imagine that I will be.
00:57 Once we're in the audience when they're doing a commercial,
01:00 if I see someone I just love, I'm not above going over and introducing myself.
01:06 And you have a new film coming out. What can you tell me about it?
01:09 It's called The Prank, P-R-A-N-K.
01:12 And it's about the world's meanest woman.
01:16 She's a snake. No joke. It's really a cult movie.
01:20 And I play this woman who is as mean as a snake.
01:24 Fernanda will tell you.
01:26 She's the high school teacher, literally, that everyone loves to hate
01:29 and is scared to death of and fails everybody.
01:32 Yes, she's the kind of teacher who when one person makes a mistake in class,
01:38 the entire class has to pay for it.
01:40 She's awful. I love doing it.
01:44 That's amazing. And you're no stranger to the Oscars.
01:47 Where do you keep your Oscar?
01:49 It's in my den. Not the living room. The den.
01:54 Did you keep the envelope as well?
01:57 No. Oh, boy. I wish I had known then.
02:00 Who thinks? I mean, I really had no idea I was going to win.
02:04 None. None. None.
02:06 What's one memory you have from that night?
02:09 Well, a funny story. Joan Crawford was the co-hostess.
02:14 And she was married at the time to a man who was Mr. Pepsi Cola.
02:20 So she had a Pepsi cooler in her dressing room just offstage.
02:25 And in the cooler was also some vodka.
02:28 And she was feeling no pain. Let's just put it that way.
02:32 And I got off the stage and I started to cry.
02:35 And she started to hug me and wouldn't let me go
02:38 because there was a photographer there.
02:41 And she wouldn't let me go. She wouldn't let me go.
02:43 And literally they had to pull me away from her
02:47 because this was her one opportunity to be with a winner.
02:51 Yeah. Very odd.
02:54 That's a wild story.
02:55 For you, what is it like being here with your mom tonight on a night like this?
02:59 It's absolutely thrilling. And I'm just so happy for her.
03:03 Like, her career is a juggernaut at 92.
03:07 I mean, and here she is. And here we are.
03:10 And I'm very pleased, honored. Yeah.
03:12 And look what I made.
03:15 I had a little help. I had a little help.
03:18 But look, isn't this--
03:20 She's my date everywhere at all these big events.
03:23 Now that I'm widowed, Fernanda is my date almost always.
03:27 I love that so much.
03:28 And one last question. You're presenting tonight.
03:30 Can you share who you're presenting?
03:32 No.
03:34 Well, we can't wait to see.
03:35 How's that?
03:37 I'm not allowed to.
