00:00 Dakota Johnson is sharing what she really thinks about Madame Webb and all the criticism the film
00:04 has received. When the Sony and Marvel movie was released last month, it flopped at the box office
00:09 and was bashed by critics and fans alike. "Your future was almost so different." In a new
00:15 interview, Johnson tells Bustle, "It was definitely an experience for me to make that movie. I had
00:20 never done anything like it before. I probably will never do anything like it again, because
00:25 I don't make sense in that world, and I know that now. But sometimes in this industry you sign on to
00:29 something and it's one thing, and then as you're making it, it becomes a completely different thing,
00:33 and you're like, 'Wait, what?' But it was a real learning experience, and of course it's not nice
00:38 to be a part of something that's ripped to shreds, but I can't say that I don't understand." During
00:43 the film's press tour, Johnson also hinted that the script was radically changed from when she
00:47 originally read it. The actress went on to tell Bustle that when it comes to making movies today,
00:51 decisions are being made by committees, and art does not do well when it's made by committee.
00:56 Johnson continued, "Films are made by a filmmaker and a team of artists around them.
01:00 You cannot make art based on numbers and algorithms. My feeling has been for a long
01:04 time that audiences are extremely smart, and executives have started to believe that they're
01:08 not. Audiences will always be able to sniff out bull. Even if films start to be made with AI,
01:14 humans aren't going to want to see those." For more on this story, head to THR.com.
