Microsoft's Commercial Partnership with Mistral Brings Closed-Source AI Model to the Market

Mistral is launching a new AI model called Mistral Large, designed to compete with OpenAI's GPT-4 language model. Mistral Large will not be open source as part of the commercial partnership with Microsoft, unlike previous models. It will be available through Mistral's own infrastructure in Europe as well as Microsoft's Azure AI platform. Mistral is also releasing a new conversational AI chatbot called Le Chat based on its models. The deal allows Mistral to explore more commercial opportunities for its technology.
