00:20 Hi, I'm Jamie Canavan, the creator of Potholes Make Glasgow.
00:23 Potholes Make Glasgow was a group that I set up back in 2021
00:27 to try and help drivers aware of potholes in Glasgow
00:31 and also to make the council aware of them.
00:34 It's a Facebook group, we've currently got 13.7 thousand members.
00:39 The group's been a massive success with the Glasgow residents
00:43 but the council are taking no notice though.
00:46 Even with the reports that have been reported, nothing, they don't seem to be getting any better.
00:50 We're here to make more people aware and make a stand
00:53 and let the council know that we're not happy with the state of Glasgow City's roads.
00:57 So what you do is you get out, take a photo of the pothole,
01:01 the conditions of the road etc. and the damage to your car.
01:04 Then go onto the Glasgow City Council website or the app
01:08 and report the potholes there with the relevant pictures etc.
01:11 Ultimately we want better roads to drive on.
01:14 Everybody's working hard for their vehicles etc.
01:17 We don't need an extra expense repairing the vehicles, so ultimately repairing the roads.
01:21 I think there's not many streets in Glasgow that don't have a pothole.
01:24 Have you seen any repairs getting done Jamie?
01:26 There are repairs being done but in turn most of them are temporary repairs.
01:31 The figures reveal from 2019 that it cost the City Council £1 million in 2019 to do temporary patch-up jobs.
01:41 So what's the figure now?
01:43 Why do you think the roads are in such a state?
01:46 Neglect. I wouldn't really say it was neglect.
01:49 So the protests started at 10 o'clock and we've got some protesters as you can see on site.
01:55 We've got Unite, the union, Scottish Private Hire etc.
02:00 They'll be joining us at 11 o'clock with a vehicle convoy around the square.
02:04 Have you seen many incidents, many accidents?
02:07 Yes, obviously we've been in the greater A group, I've seen quite a lot.
02:10 We've had an incident where a girl crashed her car with four kids on board.
02:14 Disgraceful.
