00:03 All right, Gary Sanchez is also a brewer all of a sudden here out of nowhere.
00:08 One year $7 million contract, a lot of incentives, there's a smaller base here.
00:13 Look, Sanchez as a catcher, Jeff has been mixed.
00:18 I think we would establish that.
00:20 He sort of revitalized himself a little bit with the Padres,
00:23 bounced around the league here a little bit.
00:25 Another sort of buy low for the brewers to say, hey, look, come in,
00:29 hit as many bombs as you can, we'll figure it out.
00:31 We'll figure out somewhere to play, right?
00:34 >> Yeah, I think it's add another bat, right?
00:36 He's been around a long time.
00:38 He can give you some innings behind the plate.
00:39 The brewers don't necessarily have a backup catcher.
00:42 Victor Caratini signed as a free agent in the offseason, left somewhere else.
00:47 So you've got William Contreras, who you'd love to have behind the plate as
00:51 much as you can.
00:52 But Gary Sanchez improved a lot defensively last year.
00:55 And you don't have a guy like Blake Snell, who can be very,
00:58 very finicky with his control to say the least at times.
01:02 And he was applauding Gary Sanchez.
01:04 I mean, really when you go back to when Blake Snell took off last year,
01:07 it was when Gary Sanchez was behind the plate for him.
01:11 So maybe he's gotten a little defensively.
01:14 The brewers have done a really good job in cultivating these catchers.
01:18 You go back to Manny Pini, he has Manny Grandal, Omar Narvaez.
01:22 And now what they have with William Contreras,
01:26 their catchers have supremely improved since the 2017-ish season.
01:32 So maybe they can get their hands on Gary Sanchez and help him continue to get
01:36 better defensively while he continues to hit.
