00:00 The Met Office has issued a weather warning for parts of the UK as the nation gets hit
00:06 by an Arctic blast. North Wales, Shropshire, the Peak District and the southern Pennines
00:12 are expected to see some of the worst of the weather, along with some areas in the north-east.
00:19 Into Friday and weather warnings extend to the west and east Midlands, including Wolverhampton,
00:25 Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. This arctic blast is a result of arctic air pushing down
00:32 over the UK which has then collided with the rain front moving across England and Wales
00:37 which has been bringing very wet conditions for the past few days. Though the rain is
00:43 expected to continue over the weekend for many of us, the threat of snow and ice is
00:48 likely to diminish as temperatures become slightly milder. In the meantime, the advice
00:53 as always is to take care while travelling and check ahead for any disruption.
