00:00 We're looking at our readiness, our readiness to confront the worst of all challenges, a
00:04 peer-on-peer, high-intensity, prolonged war with the likes of Russia.
00:10 And what we found is that there are weaknesses that really do need to be addressed.
00:15 The MoD are aware of these, I know they're getting after them, but there is a question of pace.
00:21 So our worries are around munitions and stockpiles. Do we have everything that we need
00:26 in that awful scenario? And we find that is wanting, present and needs work.
00:30 On personnel, are we having enough of them? At the moment there is a retention
00:36 crisis inside our armed forces. There is some better recruitment going on,
00:40 but those people have got to be taken through and retained.
00:43 And lastly, on training. With the army so stretched, doing, all the armed forces so stretched
00:49 globally, with no fewer than 40 operations ongoing at the end of last year globally,
00:56 do we have enough time to really put the effort into NATO training exercises
01:01 and preparing for that peer-on-peer conflict?
