00:00 Hello, I'm Emma Higgins with your Manchester headlines.
00:04 TV chef Simon Rimmer has announced the shot closure of a restaurant in Greater Manchester
00:09 in a statement on social media. Vegetarian eatery Green's will be closing its West Didsbury
00:14 location due to a huge increase in rent which its owners cannot afford.
00:19 A new 28-storey tower block for student housing in the city centre has been formally submitted
00:24 to Manchester Council. If approved, the block C tower planned for First Street would deliver
00:30 555 student bed spaces to the area.
00:35 And finally, drivers will soon be fined for breaking the rules of the road at six high-risk
00:39 junctions in Manchester. Last year, the government approved plans to allow Manchester City Council
00:45 to take on powers previously held by police in enforcing the rules of the road at seven
00:50 junctions in the city.
